Il test offre uno screening virologico completo per individuare sia le infezioni da ceppi ad alto rischio oncogeno, sia quelle sostenute da ceppi a basso/medio rischio responsabili di lesioni benigne (come i condilomi genitali) o alterazioni citologiche incerte.

The test screens for a total of 32 HPV genotypes: 13 high-risk oncogenic types (16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 68) and 19 low- to medium-risk types (6, 11, 26, 40, 42, 43, 44, 53, 54, 61, 62, 66, 67, 70, 73, 81, 82, 83, 89).

The test is performed on a sample of cells collected from the cervix (as a ThinPrep® thin layer or on a traditional slide). The 32 genotypes are characterized using real-time PCR and reverse dot blot techniques.
